An operation by Swadlincote Police to deal with the area's 'most wanted offenders' has already resulted in 22 offenders being targeted in three days.

Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team report they have 'gate arrested' a man who made threats to kill against his ex-partner whilst still in prison; a man who made threats on social media; and a woman who had committed 11 offences who threw water over officers while making racist remarks.

The SNT posted: "SNT Officer Rob McGlade has been planning strike day operations targeting the most wanted offenders in Swadlincote.

"The operation is only 3 days in and resulted in 22 offenders being dealt with by response and Safer Neighbourhood officers.

"The offences that have been dealt with have varied from Domestic Violence, Assaults, Racial Public order.

"Here is a brief summary of some

"An offender released from prison was gate arrested on 18/08/21 for making threats to kill against his ex-partner whilst still in prison. A Domestic Violence Protection Order was issued against him, this was breached and he now finds himself behind cell bars minus a front door, thanks to excellent work by SNT and group 4 LPU officers especially Pc Langley.

"A male who thought it was okay to make threats via email and social media found himself behind bars with all his electrical devices seized.

"A female who had committed 11 offences and decided to throw water with a barrage of racist abuse at the interviewing officers will find she will be spending more time in prison. The last drink will be on us…

"Why would you fail to stop for SNT officers Holmes and Dean in your Silver Vauxhall Astra when the car is registered to your mother.

"Could it be because you have no licence or insurance? Notice of intended prosecution on its way to you both.

"MORE STRIKE DAYS PLANNED, so expect that early morning knock on the door."
