Youths said to have 'threatened passer-by with weapons or tools' in Castle Gresley: Swadlincote Police appeal for information

Swadlincote Police are investigating claims that a group of youths carrying 'weapons or tools' threatened a member of the public in Castle Gresley.

The incident is alleged to have taken place on Sunday evening around the Burton Road and Bridge Street areas.

But the alleged victim is still unknown and police are now appealing for information about the incident.

A social media post from Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team reads: "We are investigating reports that an altercation took place in the Burton Road and Bridge Street areas of the town at about 6pm on Sunday 22 August.

"It is said that a group of boys, who may have been carrying weapons or tools, threatened a passer-by.

However, we have yet to identify the alleged victim and would urge them to come forward.

"Two boys have been arrested and released under investigation while inquiries continue.
