Seven dogs were rescued from an address in Linton this week after being found living in kennels covered in their own waste.

Swadlincote Police's Environmental Health Team acted on concerns locally about the dogs' living conditions.

The Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team's Facebook page explained: "Our Environmental Health Team received information regarding some concern around seven dogs at an address in Linton.

"They were due to finish work at the time this information came through, they decided to stay on and visit the address.

"On arrival, they found a very strong smell of dog faeces, on entering the garden they found seven dogs living in kennels that were covered in historical dog faeces.

"It was very clear these dogs had been living in these conditions for several months.

"All seven pups were seized with the help of the Dog Wardens and Safer Neighbourhood Team. This is a continuing inter agency investigation."
