Foremark Reservoir officials have warned that it may have to turn people away over the next two days with temperatures expected to rise.
And Swadlincote Police have also issued warnings to people planning to make the most of the hot weather.
Foremark Reservoir has attracted hordes of visitors during the summer, leading to police having to highlight illegal and dangerous parking on the roads outside.
Since then, double yellow lines have been painted at the South Derbyshire beauty spot
But Foremark officials are wary of following Government guidelines on social distancing and are already anticipating big numbers.
They posted on social media on Thursday morning, saying: "We are expecting a very busy day today and tomorrow!
"Please do not travel long distances to get to site as we may have to close due to being at full capacity."
It was a message reposted by Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team.
And the SNT PCSO Supervisor Kerry Wallington-Waite also posted a video clip warning the public not to ignore social distancing measures during the hot weather.
She said: "Two nice days of weather are forecast on Thursday and Friday, a bit of a heatwave.
"If you are coming to planning to come to South Derbyshire to enjoy our parks and beauty spots please do so sensibly, we still have the Government regulations in place on social distancing.
"We noticed in the last bout of hot weather an increase in litter, irresponsible and illegal parking, so please park sensibly, use the spaces provided, take your litter home and enjoy it.
"The places are there for everyone to enjoy. There will be SNT teams on day shifts patrolling parks and beauty spots as well as in the evenings."
