Leicestershire Police say a man has been arrested after a burglary at a house in Donisthorpe last month.

Neil Wakelam, 45, of St Catherines Road, Newhall, Swadlincote, has been charged with burglary and two counts of fraud by false representation.

He has been remanded to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court today (Thursday 4 November).

An appeal was issued earlier this week with a CCTV image of a man officers wished to identify and trace after a stolen bank card was used in a store in Newhall.

The card along with the keys to a car were stolen during a burglary in Stanleigh Gardens on October 18.

The car was driven away and later found abandoned in Chapel Street.

Yesterday (Wednesday 3 November) a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, taking a vehicle without consent and two counts of fraud by false representation.

He remains in police custody.

Officers have thanked everyone who had assisted with their enquiries and shared the appeals for information.
