The hunt is on for a driver who tried to ram a police car in Swadlincote after officers tried to stop it.

Police spotted the driver, who had already committed a number of offences.

But he escaped from the Safer Neighbourhood Team officers by using 'dangerous' manoeuvres to get away from the scene.

The vehicle was found later, but police are now looking for the driver.

The SNT Facebook page gave more details: "Vehicle fails to stop for SNT and section officers yesterday (Tuesday) and then tries to ram a Police car out the way.

"Driver drives dangerously away from officers, who is already outstanding for multiple offences.

"Batman and Robin set their minds to it and locate the vehicle parked up in secluded car park within the first hour of their shift.

"Vehicle removed from the roads before he seriously hurts someone, we will be finding him soon too!"
