A 65-year-old Church Gresley woman was taken to hospital five days after suffering a fall at her house.

Swadlincote Police found her after a neighbour heard her shouting for help on Sunday.

East Midlands Ambulance Service were called and she was then taken to Burton Queen's hospital for treatment.

Swadlincote Police said the incident was a 'timely reminder' of why people should look out for their neighbours at the moment during the current Coronavirus lockdown.

A Derbyshire Police spokesmen confirmed on Tuesday: "Police were called to an address on Albert Rd, Church Gresley by a neighbour who heard a woman shouting for help.

"When the officers arrived they found a 65-year-old woman, who was living on her own,  had fallen and was complaining of rib pain."

Swadlincote Response Unit tweeted: "The last job was a timely reminder of why we need to look out for our neighbours, especially the elderly after finding a female fallen in her home.

"She was discovered after five days following concern by neighbours."
