A Swadlincote man's company playing its part setting up a new testing site for NHS staff on Wednesday - and says Derbyshire is 'leading the nation' in facilities.

James Dean Events has already helped establish a new Covid-19 assessment centre in Swadlincote - with festival equipment donated for free.

And the work has not ended there.

Now Jimmy Dean, who runs the company, says his next project - believed to be in South Derbyshire - is in the process of being built.

And he says it will once again be done in the space of 24 hours.

He adds that the money saved by the donation of equipment for the centres will go towards the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment for doctors and nurses.

Jimmy posted an update on Facebook and said: "We're now fully rolling out mass testing and assessment sites across the country along side the Army's military planning team.

"The site we're setting up today will be testing NHS staff tomorrow morning.

"We've now mastered setting up a site in 24 hours.

"Derbyshire is currently leading the nation in the most amount of assessment and testing facilities (YAY!!!)

"The money the NHS are saving from using us will be spent on more PPE for doctors and nurses."
