Swadlincote Police are urging the public to pass a 'tough test' this weekend.

With the weather expected to be fine and sunny - especially on Sunday, the Government have repeated their instruction to stay indoors and only travel for essential reasons.

That means resisting the temptation to leave the house and make the most of the Spring conditions.

And Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Teams SNT Sgt, Tarj Nizzer posted the following on Facebook on Friday.

He had been out on patrol in Swadlincote and said: "I've really enjoyed getting out today, it's nice to see how Swadlincote is coping during these challenging times and that the majority of people are sticking to the government guidelines.

"The weather is looking good for the weekend and this would normally be a time we'd all be out enjoying our parks and countryside, so this is likely to be a tough test for everyone.

"Thank you to all for your efforts so far, and be reassured that my team will be out on patrol over the weekend should you need them."
