Derbyshire Police say that people have been forcing their way into the closed-off grounds at Foremark Reservoir on Sunday despite Government instructions to stay at home.

Police reported a number of parked vehicles in areas around South Derbyshire, even tough Coronavirus restrictions to do allow people to drive out to local attractions.

And they said they were concerned by the actions of some at Foremark Reservoir, less than 20 minutes' drive from Swadlincote.

The Police posted on the Derbyshire Alert site that had been a mixed day.

They wrote: "During patrols around rural areas we found a number of vehicles parked up, a lot of them were not local.

"We were also quite disappointed to find that people had ignored the closure of Foremark Reservoir, breaking through the tape to enter."

But they had a special mention for Swadlincote.

The report added: "Though again it seems that the majority of people are staying home and staying safe.

"We've been out on foot and on bike to patrol our town, parks and tunnel woods again and found that most people are keeping to the government guidelines.

"Well done Swadlincote!"

In Derby, officers were astonished to find a vehicle containing people who had driven from Suffolk to visit Elvaston Castle.
