Church Gresley professional darts player Harry Ward has announced he is to retire at the end of the 2020 season.
Twenty-three-year-old 'Big H' will turn in his Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) card after admitting he doesn't have the 'hunger or desire' to play at the top level.
Harry said: "I have taken this decision very seriously and taken advice from my friends, family and management.
"The pandemic and being with my family this past few months have made me realise I do not have the hunger or desire to be a professional darts player at the very top level.
"Seeing players like Daryl [Gurney] and other players within MDA [MDA Promotions - Harry's management company] and the effort it takes, the travelling involved with the tour has made my decision a tough but on the other hand an easy one.
"I'm still very young and I will never say never to a return in the future and winning a pro tour and playing at the worlds was a great high and I will treasure the memories for a long time."
In January 2019, Harry won a two-year PDC Tour Card on the first day of the event, beating Mark McGeeney 5-2 in the final.
He claimed his first PDC ranking title in his first full year as a tour card holder in Barnsley the same year, defeating Max Hopp 8-7 in the final.
He went on to make his debut at the PDC World Championship in December 2019, reaching the second round, but losing to Simon Whitlock 3-0 in the last 64.
He also reached the last 64 of the UK Open twice and the Players Championship Finals.
