Derbyshire's Chief Constable Peter Goodman and Police and Crime Commissioner Hardyal Dhindsa joined officers from Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team or a patrol of the town centre.
They wanted to learn more about the area, and were stopped by a number of residents who wanted to discuss issues and important matters in their community.
Swadlincote Fire Blue crew were called out to a collision between two cars in Newhall on Thursday night - which saw one driver 'so drunk' he was arrested at the scene.
They were joined by a crew from Ashby and the pair dealt with the incident which happened just before 9pm at Wood Lane.
Swadlincote Police have arrested a man who was reportedly smashing car windows in Woodville on Saturday.
Daryl Ainsworth, aged 29, of Newhall has been charged with two counts of alleged criminal damage.

The incident happened at the Post Office in Lullington Road at 6.45am.

An air ambulance was called out to Newhall Road in Swadlincote on Sunday afternoon after a woman was hit by a car and taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.
East Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed on Monday that they were called out to the incident involving a pedestrian at around 2.27pm.
