Lorry trailer supplier Montracon has sold its former manufacturing facilities in Swadlincote to a firm working on the HS2 project in a deal worth £3.5million.

The Business Desk reports that Savills brokered the deal for the 163,300 sq ft industrial and office complex, which has been bought by F Brazil Reinforcements.

Montracon has relocated the Woodville business to a nearby site off Occupation Lane and continues to have an active presence in Swadlincote.

Ian Muxlow, director in the commercial team at Savills Nottingham, said: "The sale of the former Montracon site provided the purchaser with the opportunity to acquire an extensive manufacturing facility in an excellent location offering good links to both the A42 and J22 of the M1.

"The site generated significant interest from a wide range of buyers, including commercial occupiers, investors and developers, indicative of the current strong demand for freehold industrial opportunities in the Midlands, which enabled us to secure an excellent outcome on behalf of our client."
