Swadlincote Police say they are planning to step up road safety checks in the area this week.
It is Global Road Safety week 2021 - and officers will be reminding drivers about their speed and vehicle safety.
A post on the Safer Neighbourhood Team's Facebook page says: "The UK (pre-Covid) had on average five road deaths per day, with many more seriously injured.
"Safe and responsible road use is everyone's responsibility.
"By joining this effort, our team and the public can reduce the likelihood of road and vehicle related harm occurring in our local community.
"After listening to your requests, in the coming week, we will be looking to deploy our team across various locations in the Swadlincote area to offer advice regarding speed and vehicle safety.
"We will continue with our speed checks and action the parking issues raised.
"As you know we will be seizing your cars, moped, E-scooters if you don't have insurance or licence.
"We want to hear from you if you feel there is an area that needs to slow down. Stay safe and steady guys and gals!"
