Swadlincote Police Reveal Cocky Criminal Is Hit With Nine Charges And Is Due For Crown Court Appearance

The repeat offender who was tracked down by Swadlincote Police yesterday (Thursday) has been charged with nine offences.

The town's Safer Neighbourhood Team revealed that the known criminal had taunted police saying: 'You will not find me'.

But, working with Derbyshire Constabulary's Organised Crime Team, he was found.

Now he has been charged and remanded to appear at crown court.

An SNT social media post reads: "The offences included Concerned in the supply of Drugs, Taking a vehicle without owners consent, Driving whilst Disqualified and Possession with intent to supply.

"A cat has nine lives, our outstanding offender who was arrested after being on the run has used all his up.

"He was charged with nine offences that were investigated by Dc Steph Hopkins, Daniels and Lockett from our Organised Crime Team."

The SNT also gave an update on local speed checks and said: "Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood team have also responded to your requests and completed speed checks on Wood Lane, Park Road Newhall and Hearthcote Road, Swadlincote.

"Five out of every 100 vehicles were found to be speeding on these roads and the drivers will be notified by post.

"The checks will continue at varying times in the coming months.
