Swadlincote Police have voiced more concerns about the problem of children causing anti-social behaviour in the town's parks after patrolling the area last night (Monday).

The Safer Neighbourhood Team are continuing to have a presence 'in numbers'.

And they reported what they saw on their Facebook page.

They were clearly concerned that youngsters were out after dark and causing problems in the area.

Youngsters on e-scooters were almost run over by a police patrol, while others were causing noise issues for local residents.

And they say they are already writing to some parents about their children's anti-social behaviour.

Their Facebook message reads: "What are your kids doing tonight?

"It's pitch black and your kids aren't home, where do you think they are?

"Maybe they're the ones on the little e-scooters that some of our team almost ran over on the road tonight.

"Maybe they're the ones that have been sat in the park screaming and shouting causing issues for residents, or just walking the streets in the rain.

"PC Dave and Bully are in Newhall in the vicinity of the park.

"PC Wheldon and Batman are in Gresley near Maurice Lea Park, and then PC Jones and Robin are patrolling Eureka Park.

"Hopefully they won't be bringing your kids home tonight or having to parent them for you."

Earlier in the day, the SNT said they would continue to address anti-social behaviour in the area.

They said: "Safer Neighbourhood Team will continue with the park patrols in numbers in the evenings and night.

"The patrols will continue throughout the week and Halloween weekend.

"Positive action will be taken and alcohol / tobacco will be confiscated from anyone underage.

"SNT are already in the process of writing to some parents regarding the ASB being committed on the parks by their children.

"PARENTS TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR CHILDREN."
