Swadlincote Police have arrested a man with almost 120 cannabis plants at his address.
Officers had been looking for a wanted man in Woodville but ended up at a property in Sage Drive.
They saw three cannabis plants, and when six officers arrived at the house, they discovered another 115 despite the occupants' efforts to hide them.
Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team likened their original target to Skippy The Bush Kangaroo as he had hopped off before officers could speak to him - and made his escape across local gardens.
But, on the SNT Facebook page, they said they discovered a 'different bush'.
The team's always entertaining social media message explained what happened.
They posted: "After receiving information that a wanted male was seen up in Woodville, our group three response officers went on the chase.
"He was off hopping gardens like Skippy the Bush Kangaroo before they'd arrived....
"Unfortunately for one member of our community our officers happened across a different kind of bush, of the illegal kind.
"The officers spying three cannabis plants at an address on Sage Drive.
"It seemed the occupant had been a bit too chilled out and was oblivious to the six police officers stood on his driveway, as he rushed to hide the plants before opening the door to our Chuckle team.
"He soon changed his mind, now eager to hand us the plants at the doorway.
"I wonder if he was trying to distract us from the other 115 plants our response team found upstairs.
"Skippy may have bounced away for another day of freedom, but our green fingered friend has been arrested and relieved of his weeds.
"The investigation is ongoing.
"Skippy will be found.
"Again... due to cutbacks we will not be able to run our like, share, win competition!
