Swadlincote Police arrested a van driver who had triggered a speed camera in Overseal 22 times in a year - and escaped protection by using false number plates.
Derbyshire Constabulary's Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST) flagged this up to Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team.
And they made sure the driver was off the roads within 24 hours.
But it did not escape the attention of officers that the arrest - and seizure of vehicle - happened last Friday, National Fish and Chip Day.
The SNT's Facebook post reads: "22 OFFENCES IN A YEAR, OFF THE STREETS WITHIN 24 HOURS!
"The driver of this White Transit had activated the speed camera 22 times in Overseal in the past year.
"They thought they could continue to commit offences in Swadlincote by driving on false plates. GUESS WHAT, THINK AGAIN!
"Our Crest team brought this vehicle to the attention of Swad Police on 04/09/20 National Fish and Chips day.
"On 05/09/20 officers Pc Watts, PC Belgrave, PC Simkin from Group 1 LPU decided to have their own takeaway.
"They sighted the vehicle in the early hours of the morning on 05/09/20.
"There was no number 23 on the menu for the driver.
"Driver arrested and taken away! Vehicle Seized and taken away! Driver felt battered!"
