Blackfordby School Closed For Day After Pupil Tests Positive For Covid-19

Blackfordby St Margaret's CofE Primary School is closed today (Monday) to allow for a deep clean after a pupil tested positive for the virus over the weekend.
A statement provided by the Oval Learning Trust said: "We have received notification over the weekend of a confirmed case of Covid-19 at Blackfordby CofE Primary School.
"We contacted our East Midlands Health Protection Team immediately on Sunday, September 6, and whilst we await guidance from them, we have made the decision to close the school for one day as a precautionary measure and to allow a deep clean.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and urge parents to vigilantly check for any symptoms using government guidance.
"We will update parents and community as soon as we have received guidance from the health protection team."

A child at a second primary school in Leicestershire has also tested positive for the virus.
Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust said: "We can confirm that a child at All Saints Church of England Primary School, Sapcote has tested positive for coronavirus.
"Keeping our pupils, staff and local communities safe is our highest priority. We have followed Government guidance and taken all of the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus and protect our pupils and staff.
"We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England's Local Health Protection Team."
The BBC LDRS is in the process of finding out whether the school has completely closed or affected pupils have been asked not to attend.
Pupils returned to schools in the city and county over the past fortnight.
