Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team officers made a drugs raid at a property in the town this morning (Monday) - with two people arrested as a result.

A social media post shows police breaking down the door of a house in Chestnut Avenue.

The early morning visit not only produced a drugs haul, but stolen property was also recovered.

An SNT post reads: "A substantial amount of class A & B drugs were recovered along with stolen property.

"Vehicles were also recovered as possession of criminal property.

"Both occupants of the address were arrested for possession with the intent to supply, and possession of criminal property."

Sgt Tarj Nizzer, of Swadlincote police, said: "We will act on intelligence and information received from our communities.

"This is evidenced in this successful warrant.

"Expect some more early morning big red key door knocks, from your Safer Neighbourhood Team."
