Swadlincote Police say they have identified a group of young arsonists who have been causing anti-social behaviour problems in the Newhall area.

A post on the Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team's Facebook page says those responsible will be 'robustly dealt with' - but they also ask the question: 'What are your kids up to?'.

The message is clearly directed at the parents of those who are taking part in anti-social activity in the area.

The SNT post reads: "Following incidents of Arson and Anti-social behaviour caused by a small minority at Newhall Park, Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood officers have been busy investigating and increasing patrols on all parks.

"Thanks to the fantastic help from the community, Local schools and parents of the group involved, we have been able to identify the group responsible who will be robustly dealt with.

"We take this kind ASB very serious and will continue to patrol all parks on the South Division and identify those responsible.

"We would also like to encourage parents to ask why are the children out late and ask where have they been, what have they been up to?

"We all have a part to play in keeping South Derbyshire safe so let's keep working together!"
