Swadlincote was hit by a power cut today (Friday) - and it could take until 7pm to get supplies back up and running.

The cut was caused by a fault with high voltage cables and engineers are still working on the problem according to Westem Power Distribution.

WPD's Twitter page posted this afternoon: "We've got most supplies back on in #Swadlincote #DE12.

"But are working to restore the remaining properties by approximately 19:00. Sorry for the delay."
