Swadlincote Police say they have cancelled today's Van Security event due to be held at the Old Council Depot Car Park in Darklands Road because of storm Ciara.

The event was to talk about van alarms and tool marking and was due to start at 2pm.

But weather conditions have forced it to be cancelled on safety grounds with wind damage being caused throughout the area.

Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team say they will be re-arranging the event for another date as soon as possible and will post this in the next few days.
