Swadlincote Police arrest woman for drink-driving in middle of afternoon

Swadlincote Police arrested a drink-driver in the middle of the afternoon on Monday.

Officers were quick to point out that the woman, who was close to twice the legal limit, was out at a time when children would be coming out of school.

Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team Facebook page contained details of the incident.

It reads: "SNT Officers PC McGlade & Jones were on patrol yesterday and acted on intelligence received that a female was driving a black Audi Q7, whilst under the influence of alcohol.

"They spotted the vehicle yesterday at approx. 14:45 hrs travelling along Woodland Road, Stanton. The vehicle was stopped and the driver blew 64 at the roadside the legal limit is 35.

"The driver was arrested and taken to custody and blew 64, and was charged.

"This driver clearly had no consideration for the dangers she put herself in and other road users!"
