Swadlincote Police arrest two people on suspicion of drugs, weapons and stolen goods offences after early morning raid

Armed police raided a house in Hartshorne and arrested the occupants.

The door of the home was chain sawed to allow officers in as quickly as possible.

Swadlincote Police were joined by the Armed Response Vehicle team to execute an early morning warrant on Wednesday morning.

Two people were arrested on suspicion of stolen goods, drugs offences and offensive weapons possession.

Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood Team gave more details and said: "Another successful day for the team.

"Armed response officers chain sawed the door so a rapid entry could be gained.

"Both occupants of the address were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods ,possession of offensive weapon and drugs.

"The investigation is ongoing."

Sgt Tarj Nizzer said: "We will always act on intelligence received, this has been a good result and caused some disruption to those who get involved in criminality.
