Swadlincote Police arrested a man who had this knife 'tucked down his trousers' after a foot chase in Newhall last night (Thursday).
The man attempted to run from officers who noticed a car driving strangely in the Newhall Park area.
After the officers caught up with him, he was also arrested for possession of Cannabis as well having a blade measuring more than a foot long.
The town's Safer Neighbourhood Team explained what happened on their Facebook page.
The post reads: "Batman and Robin were on fine form this evening and deviated a little from their normal plans of catching uninsured drivers.
"Our dynamic duo were parked up at Newhall Park when a car began driving strangely on spotting them.
"After catching up with it, one of the occupants decided he didn't want to talk and sprinted off.
"Our heroes gave chase, with Robin channelling his inner Sonic the Hedgehog and quickly catching up with the male.
"The male then quickly spun round in an attempt to get away.
"However, Batman was waiting in the wings and detained the male on the floor until PC Wheldon and PC McGlade arrived.
"The male was arrested for possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis and taken to custody."
