Swadlincote Primary Care Network says it plans to begin second vaccinations from Friday - after conducting 18,000 jabs in the area so far.

The team from Oakland Village & Community Care Centre hub say that they have vaccinated that number from the five surgeries within the Swadlincote PCN.

A Facebook post said yesterday (Sunday): "Meanwhile, we look forward to starting the second dose clinics from Friday, April 2, starting with our over 80s cohort.

"All second appointments will continue to be held at Oaklands.

"Thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers for their tireless dedication, our wonderful hosts at Oaklands and to our patients for their ongoing support and fantastic feedback."

Data has also been shared by Gresleydale surgery of the percentage of cohorts vaccinated:

  • Cohort 1 (residential care home patients) - 98.4%
  • Cohort 2a (Age 80+) - 98.5%
  • Cohort 2b (Health & Social Care Workers) - 96.6%
  • Cohort 3 (Aged 75-79) - 98.9%
