Gresleydale Health Centre in Swadlincote has issued a weather warning to people arriving for vaccinations this Saturday.
With heavy rain expected, patients are advised to wear waterproofs as they may have to stand outside and wait their turn.
The Heath Centre posted on social media and said: "Vaccination Updates: PLEASE NOTE rain is forecast for Saturday. Please dress for the weather as there may be a need to wait outside for a short while. Thank you.
"We are receiving a high volume of calls from patients wishing to book their Flu and Covid Booster appointments.
"Please do not ring the surgery - we will be ringing you to ease the pressure on the reception telephone system.
"All eligible patients are known to us and we will systematically work through the various cohorts/patient groups to ensure your appointment is booked.
"We are now also using a new feature to make it easier for patients to book online for specific clinics such as vaccination programmes.
"You may receive an SMS text message from the surgery which will include a booking link.
"This is not a scam text. The great thing about the feature is that it allows you to see what appointments are available so you can choose your preference and book it.
"We do get a report detailing SMS failures i.e. when the number we have is incorrect or the patient doesn't use a mobile phone. We contact these patients in writing or via their landline - no one is forgotten."
