The Derbyshire Sausage and Cider Festival is moving online this year.

With the live event at Catton Hall called off due to the Coronavirus pandemic, plans are already place for next year's festival which is organised by Swadlincote's James Dean Events.

But in the meantime, there will be a 'virtual' event held on Saturday, June 27 between 2pm and 8pm.

A series of bands will be featured including those paying tribute to the lies of Queen, Phil Collins and Robbie Williams.

A message on the festival's Facebook page reads: "An online Festival with a difference!

"This is not just another collection of bands sending in pre-recorded videos of them playing in bedrooms.

"We are building a physical stage, having top quality video, sound, and lighting.

"Plus the bands will be performing LIVE! All for free via our Facebook page.

PERFORMING LIVE: QUEEN - Real Magic Tribute; PHIL COLLINS - Seriously Collins Tribute; ROBBIE WILLIAMS - Dan Budd Trubute; SUBCULTURE (original artist); CHRIS BALDWIN (original artist)

"Plus, we also have a special one-hour video recording of the Foo Fighters GB performing at our 2019 event.

"So, grab your cider, put the sausages on the grill, put the tent up in the garden, and enjoy a day full of music hosted by our festival team."

The organisers are also urging fans to contribute to their Pay It Forward Campaign.

Their Facebook message adds: "Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have postponed our Derbyshire Sausage and Cider Festival until 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th June 2021, for the safety of our festival family.

"As a truly independent music festival, we have no corporate backers, no sponsorship, or any form of financial support.

"It's only with the help of our community that we will prevail in these uncertain times.

"So we are launching a Pay it Forward Campaign to help support our festival during its biggest challenge to date.

"We are so grateful to all the people that have supported our festival so far by rolling their tickets over to 2021. It's amazing to read so many messages of goodwill, we can't thank you enough for this.

"We still have a way to go and this is why we are running our Pay it Forward campaign. We are asking, for those that are in a position to do so, to please order your 2021 tickets today.

"This will give us a much-needed injection of revenue and secure your place at our 2021 Festival.

"If you were planning on buying a ticket but didn't get round to it or maybe you've always wanted to come but haven't yet... This would be a great time to get yourself booked for 2021 and help our beloved festival survive!

"If you can't make next year's date or you already have tickets but want to support us further, you can also make a small donation via this page."
