Swadlincote's Animal Crisis Team want to find love - for Dave the Snake.

But before you offer him a home, it is worth knowing that Dave is four and a half feet long!

The team are hoping someone will come forwards to provide new surroundings for the corn snake.

But feeding Dave should not be a problem - as long as you can give him a large mouse once a fortnight!

A post on the Animal Crisis Team's Facebook page reads: "Now there is a bit of a relaxation in lock down rules Dave the corn snake is looking for love.

"He is a happy chap and likes to hang out in his viv and watch the world go by.

"He is happy to eat large mice once a fortnight.

"As he is pretty relaxed he is easy to handle and loves to get some exercise outside of his viv, closely supervised of course.

"His hobbies include sitting in his water bowl, hiding his head under things so you can't see him and snoozing.

"Could you offer him love?

"We will need to see proof of suitable home and may need references and/or may ask for a video call to be done from your home.

"We are not able to visit homes at the moment but will discuss ways for you to demonstrate your suitable home.

"There will be an adoption fee to support the work of the rescue.

"To find out more ring 01283 210 329 and ask for the Animal Crisis Team or pop into Stan's Pals in Swad town centre and someone will help you out."
