  • There were more problems at Foremark Reservoir this weekend
  • One youth committed a disgusting act in front of people
  • A parent used the potentially dangerous venue to give his children swimming lessons
  • A grandfather pushed children off into the water in a dinghy

Police have reported more dangerous and anti-social behaviour at Foremark Reservoir over the weekend.

As a result, part of the beach area had to be closed off to the public and new fencing is to be erected in order to prevent a repeat.

A social media post from Melbourne Police Safer Neighbourhood Team catalogued the latest issues from the South Derbyshire beauty spot.

It reads: "With sorrow officers were once again called to Foremark Reservoir, near Ticknall, following concerns for public safety and antisocial behaviour.

"We work closely with the Rangers, Severn Trent Water, Fire Service, Highways and SDDC on issues like this and all work hard to find lasting solutions to on going problems.

"The issues over the last few shifts along with parking problems which were enforced included:

  • A late-teenage male who elected to remove his shorts and underwear in front of a security guard before crouching to defecate in public. Without any thought for this staff member, visitors to the location and human health, the youth showed total contempt for those people nearby. Please use public toilets and never behave in this disgusting manner. An investigation is underway to identify this person.

  • A parent who travelled to the Reservoir to give his children swimming lessons in the alkaline-rich, highly dangerous, fast-flowing and deep waters. This male was asked by rangers to immediately leave the location and told not to come back.

  • A grandfather putting two very young children in a blow-up inflatable dinghy before attempting to push it out into the deep waters, luckily spotted by Rangers who prevented a potential disaster by quickly engaging with the man and telling him to stop his incredibly dangerous actions.

"Despite several attempts to engage and educate visitors of the dangers of the reservoir's liquids, people continue to enter the extremely deep and toxic waters.

"As a result of this continued behaviour, officers were asked by rangers to attend the location and temporarily close off all 'beach' areas to members of the public- new fencing is going to be erected around these areas."
