The parents of a teenage girl from Swadlincote who sadly died following a collision at Ticknall, near Melbourne, have paid tribute to their daughter.
Phoebe Johnson died tragically after the car, a red Seat Leon, which she was travelling in was involved in a collision on the A514.
The incident happened around 12.30am on Saturday, October 23, near to the junction of Breach Lane.
The 17-year-old was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but sadly died later that day with her parents by her side.
Phoebe's Mum and Dad, Nicky and Paul Johnson, have kindly allowed Derbyshire Constabulary to share a picture of their daughter, but have asked that the media respect their privacy at this time.
In a joint statement, they said: "Phoebe was loved by many and we would like to thank our family and friends for their support, messages, condolences and love at this very difficult time.
"The pain is relentless, but we have found comfort in the people that knew and loved Phoebe."
Another 17-year-old girl, also thought to have been a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be serious and has since been discharged.
A 19-year-old woman, believed to be the driver of the car, also suffered non-serious injuries, and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage which could help with enquiries, but has not yet spoken to officers, to come forward.
