Man tries to escape Swadlincote Police on foot but is eventually caught after chase through streets

If you saw a man running from police in Swadlincote town centre this week - here is the reason why.

Officers wanted to speak to a 'suspicious male' who made off on foot to avoid them.

Ironically, the chase began close to Swadlincote Police station - and he was caught close to Newhall.

Swadlincote SNT's Facebook page gave more details: "PC Saddington attended an incident on the High Street regarding a suspicious male who decided he did not want to speak to her and made off!

"He ran into the bus park, on to Toulmin Drive, along Ruston Close where he was eventually detained by officers on Dominion Road."
