Man charged with wounding after being arrested by Swadlincote Police following 'reports of assault' on woman

Swadlincote Police have arrested a man after a woman was discovered with head injuries following an incident in Woodville.

Jordan Burgess aged 41, of High Street in Woodville, was charged with Sec 18 wounding and remanded to appear at South Derby Magistrates' Court.

The incident happened last Wednesday at around mid-day and officers attended as a result.

Swadlincote Police gave more details on their Facebook page: "On November 17, at approx. 11.49 hrs officers attended an incident on High Street, Woodville.

"A report was received of an assault taking place, on police arrival, a female was found with a head injury.

"On November 18, Pc Saddington was on patrol and arrested a male in connection with the assault.

"The investigation was picked up by our Public Protection officers."
