Latest update on progress of Woodville-Swadlincote Regeneration Route

Derbyshire County Council has given its latest update on the Woodville to Swadlincote Regeneration Route.
And it has set out the work planned for June.
Phase 1: the new link road Former Open Cast Site – Woodville
- During May, the bituminous surfacing layers on the new road were laid.
There remains a final surface layer, which will be laid towards the end of the project.
- JMC Roofing and the businesses within Muldoon's Yard on Kiln Way are now using the new road to access their premises as work to modify and reconstruct the road along Kiln Way continues.
- First Fence and Midland Lead are still accessed from Woodhouse Street.
- Work has now started on building footpaths and placing street lights alongside the new road.
- Pedestrian access along the entire length of Kiln Way is being maintained.
- Pedestrian access is not available along the new link road.
- Landscaping work will continue around the new ponds.
Programme for Phase 3
These are the programme dates, although there may be variations depending on progress made:
- Phase 3A: 10th May to 11th June 2021
- Phase 3B: 13th June to 23rd July
- Phase 3C: 26th July to 20th August
- Phase 3: joining up Phases 2 & 3
- The existing highway along Kiln Way is being reconstructed to make it suitable for its new use.
- The work within Kiln Way will be undertaken in three phases with one phase being worked on while the other two remain open to traffic. Pedestrian access will be maintained, but you may need to be accompanied through the works.
- Access to businesses will always be maintained, with access either from Woodhouse Street or along the new road from Occupation Lane. Kiln Way businesses are being visited regularly and have been provided with details of the diversion routes for staff, deliveries and customers.
