The new timetables will gives an outline of the times of first and last buses and the approximate frequencies through the day.

Arriva says it is working very hard to get full amended timetables available.

Arriva Bus to explain the situation as the crisis continues to unfold.

Arrvia says: "We understand that there are many concerns and uncertainty about the current situation.

"The health and wellbeing of our customers and employees is our primary concern.

"Our dedicated team is monitoring the situation closely and we will bring you the latest updates in line with Government advices as they arise. Keep checking this page for the latest updates.

"Arriva Bus is thoroughly monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation What Swad Needs To Know

"In light of the government's latest advice and recommendations, as well as planned school closures, we can confirm as of Monday 23rd March, sadly, we have had to reduce the frequency of some services.

"However, we will still be operating our key routes to ensure customers can continue to access critical services, and we are continuing to tailor our service changes in line with ongoing advice from the government and public health bodies.

"We are busy finalising details of the emergency timetables and these will become available during today (Thursday) and Friday. We will update these on an ongoing basis.

"Meanwhile we continue to have dedicated teams in place across all areas of Arriva UK Bus who are monitoring this fast-evolving situation very closely. For now, the current Government advice is that people can continue to use buses and other forms of public transport as they go about their lives.

"The health and wellbeing of our customers and employees remains our primary concern.

"We already have extensive cleaning regimes in place that maintain high levels of hygiene and we are enhancing them to concentrate on specific touch-points on both our vehicles and our premises.

"We will continue to engage with the advice from the Government and public health bodies and introduce any additional measures that are recommended or required.

"Government and public health body advice continues to be that the most effective measure that people can take to protect themselves and others from the virus is to regularly wash their hands for 20 seconds with soap and water, or use a hand sanitiser gel if soap and water isn't available.

"We have issued detailed and regular reminders to our own teams about hygiene good practice and the importance of hand washing and we know that our customers will also be following this advice."
