Boy, 11, is assaulted by youths in Eureka Park: Swadlincote Police hunt remaining suspects

An 11-year-old boy was assaulted by youths in Eureka Park, Swadlincote, on Sunday.

The boy was riding his bike when he was approached by a group of teenagers and has a neck chain stolen.

Swadlincote Police say some of the youths have been identified - but now all.

The Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team gave more details on their Facebook page.

The post reads: "We are appealing to anyone who has witnessed or been involved in in an incident on Eureka Park, March 21, between 15:30-16:00 hrs.

"An 11-year-old whilst on his bike was surrounded by a group of male youths, aged 13/14-years.

"He was assaulted and his neck chain stolen.

"The chain has been returned and some of the youths have been identified.

"Sergeant Nizzer is investigating officer and said: 'This was a frightening experience for the young victim who was only out enjoying a bike ride.

"We will have identified some of the group involved and will identify the others also. We will take positive action against all those involved."
