Castle Gresley-based Toons has gone online after more than 50 years of building a reputation as one of the area's top home furnishings stores.

And that has opened up a new national market with Toons' showroom being closed for various periods during the Covid pandemic.

However, the store will be open again from next Monday as part of the Government's roadmap.

A new addition to Toons' website, the online store boasts over 3,000 items for shoppers to browse and purchase from the comfort of their own home.

But going online has proved crucial in ensuring that Toons can still provide products and services to customers.

Toons began selling carpet samples and rugs from market stalls, and, over 50 years later, is well known for its showroom on the A444.

It is a family-owned and run independent retailer, offering home furnishings including beds, sofas, furniture, flooring, soft furnishings, lighting, fireplaces and outdoor products from a range of suppliers.

The Toons team are experienced, with many staff members having been with the company for decades.

Boasting a dedicated page for each item, that lists sizing information and product images, the new online store aims to offer a smooth and simple shopping experience for customers.

Mirroring most of the ranges available in-store, customers can now shop accessories, beds, fireplaces, flooring, lighting, soft furnishings, as well as outdoor furniture and even hot tubs- for delivery direct to their door.

Toons has now expanded its delivery service area to go national - as well as introducing a click and collect system.

The store reports that, since the launch of its new online store, it has received a high number of orders from customers across the UK, so increasing its customer base.

Commenting on the success of this investment, Ecommerce Manager at Toons, Nathan Kinson said: "Our customers have been at the forefront of everything we do here at Toons for over 50 years.

"Having the online store allows us to still be able to provide them with our ranges of home furnishings, despite our physical showroom being closed, which is something so important to us.

"Not only are we very happy that the online store has launched and been successful, we're also excited that it has helped us to reach clients across the UK, which was a key goal for us.

"We can't wait to see this new part of our business continue to grow from strength to strength."
