April update on Woodville to Swadlincote Regeneration Route

An update has been issued on the progress being made on the new Woodville to Swadlincote Regeneration Route.

The developers are on course to finish the project in August.

And they have issued an overview of the Build Programme.

• Complete Occupation Lane section to Kiln Way – expected May 2021

• Work starts to modify and improve Kiln Way – expected May 2021

• Complete Kiln Way section – expected August 2021

• Complete Derby Road roundabout – expected August 2021.

During April, The new highway drainage systems will be completed along the new road.

Kerbing work will start in early April, which will be followed by laying the bituminous surfacing layers later in the month.

Street lighting will also be positioned along the new road. This means that what you see will become more recognisable as a road.

Landscaping work on the ponds and culverts will also continue during April.

There will be work taking placer some Saturdays during April, with a shift finish of 1pm.
