Swadlincote Police arrest Newhall man for possession of offensive weapon

A Newhall man was arrested for possession of an an offensive weapon.

The wanted male was arrested at his home after initially refusing to open his door.

But officers gained access using a spare set of keys and the man was taken into custody.

Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team gave more details: "The team equipped with the return of Alex Boniface did an early morning door knock in Newhall, regarding a wanted male.

"The male refused to open the door so the Sergeant authorised the usage of the spare keys given to Alex and Rob.

"The male was found in the address and dealt with by our Custody investigation team.

"He was charged with Sec 4 Public order, possession of an offensive weapon and remanded into custody to appear at Derby Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday)."
