Swadlincote Police arrested a youth for public order offences in Maurice Lea Memorial Park in Church Gresley on Wednesday.

Police were called to a group causing anti-social behaviour in the park in Common Road.

But when one refused to give their details and swore at officers, he soon regretted it.

Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team gave more details on their Facebook page and said: "ARREST MADE DON'T CAUSE ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR IN THE PARKS.

"A free lesson for anyone who thinks it's okay NOT to give their details when committing these offences and trying to walk off swearing.

"PC Saddington and PCSO Edwards were trying to engage with a group of youths on Maurice Lea Memorial Park and had to witness this behaviour.

"Guess what? One under arrest for public order offences! THEY WONT BE DOING THAT AGAIN!

"From the Safer Neighbourhood Team, we have some of the most beautiful and well-maintained parks in the county thanks to our local council team.

"Please respect the community and young families who use these parks.

"Pick your litter up and behave in the parks. SNT will take positive action against those who don't!"
