A group of youths in Castle Gresley 'pelted residents with missiles' - including a woman holding a three-month old baby.

Swadlincote police are investigating reports of youths throwing stones from the wood near Pitt Lane and Bank Street.

And although nobody was hit, damage has been caused to a parked car.

They say they photograph of the group but cannot make them public due to their ages.

But a post from Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team on Tuesday evening says that the issue will be folllowed up.

The SNT's message reads: "Where have your kids been tonight?

"We have had a report of a group of youths throwing stones and other items from the wood off Pitt Lane in Church Gresley onto Bank Street.

"The youths who regularly congregate on there felt that it was reasonable to pelt these at the residents, including one lady who was holding a three month old baby at the time.

"Luckily on this occasion no one was hit, though the missiles have caused damage to a car on the street.

"We do have photographs of the group and even though I cannot place these onto Facebook due to their ages, we will obviously be following this up."
