Swadlincote Companies Back Volunteers From Dog Rescue Making Face Visors For Free Issue

By Guest 26th Apr 2020

Just over three weeks ago, as fundraising was put on hold for the team at Broken Souls Rescue, they used their skills to start making Face Visors for Free Issue.

With Initial Donations by Keystone Lintels and First Fence, both local Swadlincote businesses, to purchase the material, production started with a small laser machine in Hartshorne and a few volunteers.

A GoFundMe page has been set up and with other donations, support from Granville and Pingle Academies and Coventry Trophies using their laser machines and more volunteers.

We now have supplied over 10,000 Face Visors and still have requests for over 5,000 more. ALL free to those who need them.

Visors have been supplied to....

  • Glenfield Hospital - A&E Departments, Intensive Care Units
  • Derby Royal Infirmary - Critical Care Unit, Stroke Ward.
  • Burton Queens Hospital - Surgical Wards, Covid Wards, Maternity Wards, A & E Departments
  • GP Surgeries
  • Swadlincote Bus Park Assessment Unit
  • Veterinary Practices
  • Care Homes
  • Care Workers
  • St Giles Hospice
  • Marie Curie Nurses
  • Community Nurses

Burton Hospital have had their first delivery on Thursday of 400, where they are sterilising them for use on their surgical wards. A further 1,000 will follow this coming week.

It is remarkable how this has grown from an initial idea and in less than four weeks, we will have protected about 15,000 people.

If you would like to support this cause, donations can be made at Broken Souls Rescue

A £1.00 donation will enable us to make three more visors.
