Bright Side Vets in Swadlincote has launched a service to help pet owners identify potential problems with their pet's eyes.

The vets' new ophthalmology service covering the East Midlands, ties in with National Pet Eye Health Awareness Week which runs until September 27.

Jess Starr, Senior Vet at Bright Side Vets explained: "Eye problems are often painful and, if left untreated, may result in sight loss.

"So, being aware of potential problems with your pet's eyes is essential.

"Eye problems in pets can sometimes be hard to pick up as pets can't always tell owners when something is wrong.

"Pet Eye Health Awareness Week raises awareness of common symptoms of poor eye heath so that pet owners can identify eye problems early and seek veterinary advice quickly'.

To help owners identify common symptoms of eye disease, pet owners can visit TVM-UK Eye Health where they can find more in-depth information.
