Swadlincote Police: Woodville Man 'Assaulted Emergency Services Worker'

Swadlincote Police have charged a man with assaulting an emergency service worker.

On their Twitter page, Swadlincote Response Unit gave details of the incident which took place on February 17.

They posted: "Martin Batten, of Smallthorn Place, Woodville, was discovered driving a motor vehicle on Swadlincote High Street. He was charged the next morning.

"His associate Jamie Mellor, of Davis Road, was charged with assaulting an emergency service worker.

"We will not tolerate drink driving nor assaults on our staff. Great work to @swadresponse in dealing with this incident."
