Swadlincote Police say 'community intelligence' allowed them to take this car off the road in Castle Gresley on Tuesday.

The town's Safer Neighbourhood Team used social media to post a photo of a Volkswagen being loaded on to a truck.

It was taken in as it was registered as being out of use and uninsured.

Yet a man was reported by police as driving it on the road.

Swadlincote SNT posted: "Vehicle seized yesterday evening at Castle Gresley.

"Male driving a vehicle which was notified off-road and not insured.

"Thanks for the community intelligence another car is off the road."
