Swadlincote Police part of raid on nearby village to recover Class A drugs and cash

Swadlincote Police formed part of a drugs raid in Coton in the Elms today (Thursday).

Photos issued by the Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team on social media show a big police presence at the address.

Class A drugs and tablets were recovered during the operation after a warrant was issued.

The SNT gave more details and said: "Organised Crime Group, Task Force and SNT worked together to execute a warrant at an address in Coton in the Elms.

"Class A drugs and tablets were recovered with a large amount of cash.

"All the vehicles on site were also checked.

"Sgt Nizzer, who was working with his old friends DSgt McDermott, DSgt Russell of the OCG team, and old friends on Task Force said: "I would like to thank the OCG sergeants for putting this warrant together and the Task Force team for helping out in executing it, recovering the drugs and cash.

"We will always act on information and intelligence received and work with our specialists units to tackle criminality in Swadlincote ".
