A van driver's decision to 'spend a penny' by the side of the road in Woodville ended up costing him £90.
The driver pulled up in Butt Lane on Monday afternoon to answer a call of nature.
But he was spotted by Swadlincote Sater Neighbourhood Team officers who fined him for his actions.
The SNT posted on their Facebook page and said: "Pc Saddington and Pc Simkins came across a male on Butt Lane, Woodville who decided to spend a penny in public view, at the roadside.
"It was a very expensive penny to spend, £90 fixed penalty issued. Nice try."
Swadlincote Police had earlier spoken to another van driver in Hartshorne - this time one with no insurance.
He had been delivering over 200 packages - all of which had to be transferred to another vehicle.
The driver's attempt to quickly arrange cover while officers were checking his credentials, ended up backfiring.
The police posted: "On Brookdale Road, Hartshorne, at 1320hrs on 08.02.21, a van was seen driving without insurance (ANPR hit).
"It was a freelance delivery driver who was delivering over 200 packages in the area.
"Pc Holmes and PCSO Edwards stopped the vehicle and asked the driver if he had any insurance.
"The driver, attempted to buy an online insurance policy at the roadside out of sight of the officers.
"After strong words of advice, he admitted to having no insurance, the vehicle seized under sec 165 of RTA and driver reported for summons.
"The driver's boss turned up and all packages had to be transferred into another van prior to seizure.
"Patrols will continue in all areas of our community."
