Swadlincote Police have been part of a partnership meeting aimed at resolving anti-social behaviour issues at Foremark Reservoir.
The South Derbyshire beauty spot has had a number of problems caused by misbehaving visitors to the site.
Offenders have been highlighted for illegal parking, littering, dangerous activities close to the reservoir water and abuse of the volunteers who work there.
The venue appears to be a target for people in hot weather - but many of them show no respect for the surroundings.
A Facebook post from Swadlincote's Safer Neighbourhood explains: "Anti-social behaviour (ASB) comes in many forms and can be dealt with in many ways by many different agencies.
"SNT team attended Foremark Reservoir where a partnership meeting was held with representatives from Foremark, Derbyshire County Council Highways team, your local Parish, District and County councillors, Safer South Derbyshire Partnership and a representative of local residents.
"The meeting was arranged following ASB that has occurred during the warmer weather in the location and designed to bring together the various agencies to discuss the issues, what has already been done, what needs doing and who will be taking responsibility for which issue.
"By working together in partnership and keeping in regular contact we hope to find lasting solutions to resolve the issues and improve the quality of life for the local community and improve road safety.
"You may already have noticed some things that we have all worked to achieve such as the double yellow lines now in place, fencing around the perimeter, enforcement action from your local team relating to parking and ASB and signage. Keep an eye out for more to come.
"Foremark is a place of beauty which we all want to keep that way and enjoy. Please do your bit if you visit and leave it as you find it.
"To be very clear once more:
- Although parts of the edges of the Reservoir has naturally made a sandy area this is NOT a beach.
- Although the Reservoir has water this is NOT for swimming or paddling in (for humans or animals).
- The site does NOT allow BBQ's
- If you bring a picnic, drinks or snacks with you please bring a bag to take your litter home with you.
- The wooded area is for lovely country walks NOT for defecating or urinating in.
- There is a large car park area on site along with overflow car parks if needed please use these to keep the road clear for other road users (There are solid white lines and double yellows on the road approaching the Reservoir which IS enforced) .
- Gates close at 5pm to incoming vehicles. If those vehicles already in have not left by 8pm you WILL be locked in as the gate will automatically lock for outgoing vehicles at this time."
