Swadlincote Police were involved in a drugs raid in Castle Gresley last week.

Officers broke down the door at a property in Station Street and two people were arrested.

Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood Team explained what happened on their Facebook page.

They said: "If you noticed a lot of police activity this morning (Friday) in Castle Gresley, it was because officers from your Safer Neighbourhood Team executed an early morning drugs warrant at a property on Station Street, Swadlincote.

"Entry was gained into the premises thanks to our big red key.

"A substantial amount of drugs were recovered from the address.

"Both occupants of the address were arrested for Possession with the intent to supply, and are currently being dealt with by our amazing Custody investigation Unit."

Sgt Tarj Nizzer said " We will listen to our community and act on intelligence and information received.

"This is evidenced in this successful warrant.

"Expect some more early morning big red key door knocks from your Safer Neighbourhood Team.
